BOOK A TATTOO

hello, tysm for looking to book a tattoo with me! ♥ I'm located in SE portland, or
★ flash flat priced ★
★ customs $175-200/hr - sliding scale information
8 years of tattoo, freelance + design experience ♡
I approach tattooing with lots of love and excitement! I'm patient and try to bring care and a trauma informed lens to my art. I wish to create a chill space within my tattooing practice. I am LQBTQI+, BIPOC, trans + gnc friendly! I have no tolerance for hateful speech and ideologies.★ I do not permit other artists to tattoo my designs. if you can't currently travel to me for a tattoo, please visit a shop in your town and have one of the lovely artists design you something original! ♥★★★ I am very scent sensitive, please respect this when booking with me and on the day of the appointment. I will very likely get a migraine from perfumes, lotions, soap, common cleaners, candles, etc. with scents. I would much rather smell body odor (you’re gonna sweat anyway!) vs. perfumes when tattooing you, and I don’t want to send anyone home! feel free to check in with me about any scents you regularly use, and avoid wearing any fragrances in the studio during your appointment~
★★★
please read everything thoroughly and answer with detail! If you're unsure on any questions, please mark as so instead of leaving the field blank.
thank you! I look forward to working with you /|( •͈ω•͈ )/|\ ♥- ollie

★ COMMUNICATION ★

  • I try and maintain healthier work/life boundaries, so you can expect an inquiry response on my work days, wednesday-sunday.

  • email is best to get a hold of me! my instagram notifications are turned off for my mental health, I check some notifs and dms occasionally but they are not a reliable way to get a hold of me, especially since they randomly disappear sometimes??

  • it's okay to ping me if I haven't gotten back to you! please use your judgement wisely about multiple messages, there's a difference between a reminder vs spam.

★ HEALTH ★

  • I experience several health issues such as chronic (sometimes daily) migraine, vertigo, nausea, GERD + panic disorder, just to name a few. even with medication and therapy, these issues make it difficult to respond with speed. I'll try my best to get back to you when I can!

★ TATTOO PROCESS ★

★ TYPES OF APPOINTMENTS? ★

  • custom appts: unique tattoo I design for you, based on your visual/written idea + proposed budget.

  • predrawn/flash: designs I have already drawn! available thru online gallery (on booking page)

★ DESIGN ★

  • like many other tattoo artists, I will have a design or various options available for you at the appointment. it's important that you come to me trusting my ability to design you something that works well as a tattoo! I have 8yrs experience with freelance art and commissions with clients.

  • please be specific when describing your tattoo idea to avoid any confusion. in the event we need to make any changes (design, color, etc) I am happy to do so in person! I'm open to consultation sessions in person or virtually as well if you would prefer to spend more time designing together~

  • ★★★ I will be flexible about this for traveling clients or for large projects! ★★★

★ scars, cover-ups, etc? ★

  • I'm totally down for all tattooable textures and types of skin! stretch marks, scars, give me all the things! I will tattoo over scars healed ~2yrs (as to allow for proper healing of the initial wound). if you're unsure, send me a photo in your submission or we can schedule a consultation!

  • personally, I have the tendency to have hypertrophic/keloid scarring, and tattoos have immensely helped me feel more secure in my body, even with raised scars.

  • since I enjoy blackfill, shading and color, my work can do well for coverups/blastovers! happy to work with you on a project like that~

★ allergies ★

  • along with skin + health conditions, I will ask you about any allergies in our intake form. our studio does not use any latex products, and is low scent due to my own sensitivity to scents.

  • both dermshield (or a similar adhesive style bandage) and driloc soaker pad (non-adhesive) options are available at our studio to bandage your tattoo!

  • all inks are vegan! if you would like a color test spot done to see if your body has a reaction to any pigments, just submit a form! I happily offer color test swatches for $20-free sliding scale

★ accessibility ★

  • my current studio is on the first floor of the building! there is a concrete step up to get in the doorway (working on getting a ramp), and two short steps to get to the tattoo area of the studio. please lmk ahead of time if you require ADA access/ramps so we can figure it out!

★ TATTOO TICKETS + TRAVEL ★

  • while many artists may offer tattoo tickets, I do not permit any other artists to tattoo my work, unless explicitly given permission. if you are unable to travel, I welcome you to explore your local area to see what artists can help you design something beautiful!

★ AFTERCARE ★

★ DERM BANDAGES ★

derm style bandages are newer, we have Recovery Derm available to bandage your tattoo if you would like! it is a medical-grade, transparent, adhesive barrier that protects new tattoos while they are healing. It is latex-free, waterproof, breathable, and hypoallergenic.

  • the first seven days are a crucial time when it comes to healing tattoos. because it's breathable and waterproof, derm can be left on during that period. it will protect the tattoo from bacteria and debris, while also helping to save clothes and linens from ink and blood

  • wearing it often contributes to faster healing times and darker blacks

  • you may shower regularly, but no soaking/submerging the piece

your bandage will fill up with bodily fluid and look pretty gnarly- this is normal! It is just a clear bandage so you get the pleasure of seeing all the goop :’)
Derm Shield's website recommends the bandage stay on for a few days, not exceeding a week. I personally usually keep it on for 2-4 days on my tattoos.
you can still heal your tattoo perfectly fine if you remove the bandage the day after the tattoo ♥ this is a convenient bandage for many, but ppl have been healing their tats with other bandage types for a very long time, so don't sweat if it comes off!

  • if any tearing, breaking, or leakage occurs, remove the bandage immediately. it is now breached, which allows the plasma + rejected ink to flow out of the bandage, as well as for bacteria to come back in to the healing tattoo environment.

  • if you experience skin irritation or break-outs, it is often a reaction to the adhesive in the bandage. this can look like a red ring around the bandage, itchy feeling, or discoloration. please remove the bandage if you notice this, the more irritation happening, the less likely the tattoo will heal well.

  • you may replace your first bandage with a second piece if this occurs. first remove, wash gently with your fingers + gentle scent free soap, pat dry and apply the second piece.

★ DERM BANDAGE REMOVAL ★

  • when you are ready to remove your bandage, it's easiest to take a warm shower, and peel off the derm.

  • start at the top, and pull downward and with the direction your hair grows. derm shield is stretchy, so you can stretch it out as well!

  • if you are having a difficult time removing the bandage, you can use a mild, unscented liquid soap (such as Dr. Bronner's unscented castile liquid soap or Dial) to help ease it off.

  • it should come off in one sheet, with an imprint of your tattoo. don't worry- it hasn't pulled out any ink, this print is just the layer of fluid that has dried between your skin and the bandage.

  • gently wash your tattoo using your fingers with mild soap and warm water, then get out of the shower and pat it dry with a clean paper towel.

  • you may now apply an unscented lotion, or a very thin layer of healing ointment such as Aquaphor or A&D.

☽༓・˚⁺‧͙ :・゚✧:・‧͙˚・༓☾

★ DRILOC / SOAKER PAD BANDAGE ★

  • leave your bandage on for at least 2 hours, this + the cohesive bandage will help apply pressure and absorb fresh gunk from the tattoo.

  • remove anytime in the next 24hrs. do not exceed 24 hrs wearing the bandage, your skin has to breathe!

  • after removing your bandage, gently rinse your tattoo with fingers under warm water, with scent free, mild soap. pat dry with a clean paper towel. If you were given any additional bandages, you may apply it now.

  • after applying any additional bandages, follow the rest of the healing instructions in the “IN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS” section below.

☽༓・˚⁺‧͙ :・゚✧:・‧͙˚・༓☾

★ CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS ★

  • wash your hands. make sure to wash your tattoo x2 daily with mild, unscented liquid soap (dr. bronner's, dial antibacterial, etc.). A liquid pump soap is recommended due to being more sanitary than bar soap.

  • pat dry with a clean paper towel (this minimizes lint + fibers getting in your tattoo), and lightly apply a thin layer of unscented moisturizer. a moisturizer that is dye and scent free will be the least irritating on your fresh wound. (ex. lubriderm, cerave, aveeno, etc)

  • If you use a moisturizer without a pump top, keep it sanitary by washing your hands and only touching the salve with an unused tongue depressor or other disposable, sanitary swabbing device.

★ next 2 weeks ★

★ FOR ONE MONTH NO: ★

  • tanning

  • exposure to direct sunlight

  • soaking in water (bath, hot tub, pool, lake, river, ocean, etc)

  • heavy sweating (for two weeks) - slow down gym routine + no sauna

★ CLOTHING + SHEETS ★

  • while your tattoo heals, wear clean clothes + wash your sheets (ESPECIALLY if you have pets). pet hair, dander and dust can irritate a tattoo. this will greatly improve your chances of avoiding an infection!

  • avoid tight clothing that could stick to your tattoo. If you find yourself stuck to fabric, do not rip it off dry!!! instead, go to a sink or shower and soak the stuck fabric under running water until it detaches from the tattoo on its own.

★ next month ★

after a month, always apply a sunscreen with high SPF to your tattoo (and/or zinc oxide as a dominant ingredient) when exposing it to the sun. proper skin care will help the tattoo stay sharp for a long time! ♥
living in pdx, also have to mention you can still get uv rays/sunburnt with cloud cover, so don't underestimate it!!

★ 3 weeks - onward ★

★ send me healed photos!! here’s a guideline: ★

  • have a friend help you, or take a self timed photo in clear focus, about 6-12 inches away from the tattoo

  • natural light is the best when possible! or a soft, diffused light, which reduces glare. for UV tattoos, I love seeing photos of them under blacklight as well ♥

  • you can message me and we can also set up a time to photoshoot in the studio, and I can check out the healed work in person!

  • please send healed photos to hournoontattoo@gmail.com ~♥

★ TOUCH-UPS ★

if you need a touch up on your piece, please let me know in the email as well and we can get you scheduled for one! I offer touch ups at a sliding scale rate of $20 - free ♥ any $ covers tray cost~
thanks so much for getting a tattoo from me!!
